SANTA BARBARA, California (March 6, 2017) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after an alleged hit-and-run crash at State Street and Las Positas Road Monday afternoon, according to Noozhawk.
The accident took place at about 12:15 p.m.
As per the article, police said a man was riding a Ducati motorcycle south on State Street when vehicle traveling north turned into his path. He then struck the front right panel of the car and went over the top.
Fire department officials affirmed that the rider, a man believed to be in his 50s, was taken toSanta Barbara Cottage Hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. His name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, the driver involved fled the scene but was followed by an off-duty law-enforcement officer. The suspect subsequently collided with a second vehicle on Las Positas Road and continued to an address on Treasure Drive, near the Samarkand retirement community.
Officers were dispatched and interviewed the motorist described as an elderly man. The investigation is ongoing.
