SANTA BARBARA, California (February 27, 2017) – A Santa Barbara Police officer was hospitalized after a traffic collision Monday afternoon at De La Vina and Figueroa streets, according to KEYT.
The report was posted at 2:37 p.m.
As per the article, police said SBPD Officer Scott Naganuma was riding a motorcycle when he was side swiped by a vehicle at the intersection. The motorcycle ended up on its side following the crash.
Officer Naganuma was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He has over 27 years with the department and is a veteran motorcycle traffic officer.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved was fined as a result of the accident. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
