1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 17 and Bear Creek Road
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA (November 13, 2022) – A crash killed one person and seriously injured another on Highway 17 and Bear Creek Road in Santa Clara County.
According to the KION News and SF Gate, the tragic accident took place on Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 9:57 p.m.
The incident happened when four to five vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Santa Clara County west of Los Gatos. The cars crashed on southbound Highway 17 at the Bear Creek Road off-ramp.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The California Highway Patrol described a car involved as a white sedan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced one individual dead at the scene.
Another occupant sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 17 to shut down for a time near Bear Creek following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
