SANTA CLARA, California (March 16, 2017) – A motorcyclist was injured in an alleged hit-and-run crash on Highway 237 Thursday, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The accident took place at approximately 5:15 p.m., just west of Great America Parkway off-ramp.
As per the report log, a motorcyclist was entering and attempting to merge on the slow lane when he was struck by an SUV. The male rider was left crawling on the right hand shoulder, while the other driver involved fled the area.
CHP said paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the injured victim. The extent of the injuries he sustained and his name remained unknown.
Meanwhile, a witness described the suspect vehicle, which possibly hit the motorcycle in the blind spot, as a maroon Toyota RAV4 with a license plate of 7VBP087. The dispatch did not mention if the hit-and-run motorist was located and arrested.
