2 Hospitalized After Collision at Sand Canyon and Little Tujunga Canyon Road
Santa Clarita, CA (July 19, 2022) – Two people suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Sand Canyon and Little Tujunga Canyon Road.
The KHTS News reported two vehicles collided at the intersection, just north of the eastbound Santa Clarita Truck Trail. Officials mentioned the wreck involved a silver Hyundai Sonata, and a silver Volkswagen. The force from the impact caused the Hyundai to roll approximately 200 feet down an embankment. On the other hand, the Volkswagen ended up careened off the side of Sand Canyon Road.
Major Car Accident in Santa Clarita
Shortly after 11:05 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding firefighters reportedly extricated the driver and passenger of the Hyundai. Per local news source, both parties sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. One victim had a femur fracture and was airlifted to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
The occupants of the Volkswagen appeared unharmed after the incident.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash that happened at Sand Canyon and Little Tujunga Canyon Road.
