Semi-Trucks, Cars Crash on I-5 Freeway in Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (Sept. 2, 2022) — A major injury crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway happened Friday afternoon, just south of Valencia Boulevard in Santa Clarita.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred in the northbound lanes about 2 p.m. on Sept. 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a white Honda Civic, a gray Nissan and a two big rig trucks blocked the slow lane after the collision. One person suffered a left leg fracture and major injuries in the crash. Meanwhile, a second person hurt is a 38-year-old pregnant woman, but there are no further details.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help the injured. Both people required an ambulance to transport them to a hospital.
Meanwhile, tow trucks responded to remove the two cars from the crash site.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Santa Clarita crash.
