
1 Injured in Santa Clarita Crash on Highway 14 at Oak Springs Canyon
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 26, 2023) – A DUI crash left one person injured on Highway 14 and Oak Springs Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
According to an article published by The Signal, the accident took place last week on Wednesday. Officers reported the wreck on May 17 at about 12:54 a.m.
The incident happened when a Lexus was going north on Highway 14 at Oak Springs Canyon Road in Santa Clarita. The car then failed to stop in time for an unknown reason.
The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the Lexus slammed into a BMW. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found one individual who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Drunk Driver Hits Another Car
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the minor injuries they sustained upon impact. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the 23-year-old Lancaster man driving the Lexus was under the influence of alcohol when he struck the other car.
They soon arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI causing injury in lieu of $100,000 bail. Officers released him on May 20 due to his own recognizance.
Officers forced the area of Highway 14 and Oak Springs Canyon to shut down following the wreck. The Santa Clarita crash is still under investigation.
