Major Head-on Crash on Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita

 SANTA CLARITA: Head-on Crash Sierra Highway, Thomas RoadSANTA CLARITA, Calif. (Sept. 10, 2019) — At least one person was seriously injured after a head-on crash was reported Tuesday at Sierra Highway and N. Thomas Road in Santa Clarita.

The crash was reported at 6:17 a.m. to the California Highway Patrol. The drivers of a white truck and a white or silver 4-door sedan similar to a Toyota Prius were involved. The CHP called the Los Angeles County Fire Department to respond to the scene to help the injured including a woman who was trapped in the sedan.

A helicopter was landed on Sierra Highway to airlift at least one person to a hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, the pickup truck was on its side blocking the northbound lane and the Prius suffered front-end damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation to determine fault.
