Pedestrian Injured in Santa Clarita DUI Crash at Gas Station on Newhall Avenue
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 25, 2023) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a DUI crash in a Santa Clarita Gas station on Newhall Avenue.
According to The Signal and Hometown Station, the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision on May 24 at around 8 p.m.
The incident happened when a white Ford F-150 backed up into a man who was putting air in the vehicle’s tire at the Chevron Gas Station.
Man Hit by Drunk Driver
The sheriff’s station said the pickup truck hit the pedestrian in the 20500 block of Newhall Avenue in Santa Clarita. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim hurt as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, deputies determined that the male driver of the Ford was under the influence of alcohol when he struck the victim. They soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI causing injury.
Officers forced the gas station along Newhall Avenue to close following the collision. The pedestrian DUI crash is still under investigation.
