6 Children Involved in Car Accident at Placerita Canyon Road and Sierra Highway
LOCATION: Santa Clarita Valley
DATE OF COLLISION: Sunday, September 9th
September 12, 2018 – Several children were found at the scene of an alleged DUI car crash at Placerita Canyon Road and Sierra Highway Sunday afternoon.
According to the Signal, six children between the ages of 7 to 12 were inside a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Timothy John Atkins. When their vehicle approached the intersection, it reportedly collided into another car.
Shortly after 4:20 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location and immediately rendered aid to the parties involved. Primary reports indicated the children suffered minor injuries including cuts and abrasions as a result of the crash. Furthermore, officials said at least one child was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Meanwhile, responding deputies apparently administered a breath test to Atkins and it came up over the legal limit. The man was arrested on a DUI charge.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
