
4 Injured in Santa Clarita Wrong-Way Crash on 14 Freeway Near Escondido
SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 4, 2023) – Several were injured after a wrong-way crash on the 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
According to My News LA and Hometown Station, the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck on March 4 at about 9:20 a.m.
The incident began when a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling south on the northbound 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
In the process, the driver of the pickup truck caused a collision involving multiple vehicles. The California Highway Patrol said at least two of them rolled over upon impact.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and freed one trapped occupant from the wreckage. A total of four people ended up hurt as a result of the incident.
Two victims sustained critical injuries while the other two survived with minor injuries. Medical personnel then rushed all four patients to hospitals for treatment.
The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the Santa Clarita crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of the 14 Freeway to shut down near Escondido Canyon for about two hours following the wreck.
