Major Injury Collision Near Pasatiempo Drive Saturday
Santa Cruz, CA (March 5, 2022) – At least one person suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 17, also known as Santa Cruz Highway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a car crash took place in the southbound side of the highway near Pasatiempo Drive. CHP logged the case Saturday shortly after 1:35 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found one vehicle flipped on its side. Another car ended up smashed against a tree along the highway.

Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the collision. After the evaluation, officers confirmed at least one person sustained major trauma as a result of the crash. The name of the victim, and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine several unclear factors surrounding the car accident on State Route 17 in Santa Cruz.
