Boy, 10, Injured in Santa Cruz Child Accident on Portola Drive Tuesday
SANTA CRUZ (October 23, 2018) – A young pedestrian was injured after an accident in a parking lot along Portola Drive Tuesday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The collision was reported at around 3:27 p.m. at 3036 Portola Drive.
CHP received a call about a 10-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle for an unknown reason in the parking lot of 7-Eleven convenience store.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found the child conscious and breathing following the crash. The victim appeared to have suffered a leg injury upon impact.
The patient was apparently transported to the hospital for further medical aid and evaluation. His condition at this time was not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the report log did not mention whether or not the driver involved stopped after hitting the juvenile. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
