Rider Killed in Collision Near Coward Road

Santa Cruz County, CA (May 9, 2023) – A female motorcyclist died following a traffic accident that occurred on Carlton Road Monday afternoon, May 8.

The Mercury News and KSBW reported a 30-year-old woman was riding a motorcycle traveling in the roads of Santa Cruz County just east of Watsonville. When the female motorcyclist approached the area near Carlton and Coward Road, the woman lost control of her bike and ended up colliding with a tractor-trailer rig.

Officials said the horrible crash took place around 3:37 p.m.

Deadly Traffic Accident on Carlton Road in Santa Cruz County

When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the woman suffering in serious injuries. Responding paramedics performed life-saving efforts to the victim but she eventually succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the name of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, the driver and passenger in the truck both appeared unharmed after the unfortunate event.

Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause and liability in the deadly accident that happened on Carlton Road in Santa Cruz County.
