Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 1 Near Mar Monte Avenue
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (March 9, 2022) – A crash seriously injured a motorcyclist on Highway 1 near Mar Monte Avenue in Santa Cruz County.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:23 a.m.
The motorcycle rider and at least one other vehicle collided for an unknown reason in the Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley community of Santa Cruz County.
CHP said the two crashed on northbound Highway 1, just south of Mar Monte Avenue.
Motorcycle and 2 Cars Collide
The incident log described the car as a Toyota Camry which obtained moderate rear-end damage. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Toyota ended up hurt or if they stopped following the incident.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 1 to shut down near Mar Monte after the wreck. The cause of the Santa Cruz County crash is still under investigation.
