Motorcyclist, 29, Killed in Santa Cruz Crash at Mission Street and Fair Avenue
SANTA CRUZ, CA (February 18, 2021) – A crash killed a motorcyclist at Mission Street and Fair Avenue in Santa Cruz.
According to an online post by the Santa Cruz Police Department, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5 p.m.
Police said multiple vehicles including a motorcycle collided for an unknown reason. They crashed on Mission Street at the intersection with Fair Avenue.
Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Younglove Avenue and Swift Street
Firefighters along with the paramedics then responded to the scene. They found the 29 year-old man riding the motorcycle suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed him to the Domincan Hospital where he later died. The name of the deceased rider has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officials did not mention if any other party ended up hurt following the incident. Authorities forced the road to close between Younglove Avenue and Swift Street for about two hours after the crash.
The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
