Santa Cruz, CA (April 3, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a hit-and-run collision on Sumner Street on March 28, Sunday.

Officials said a vehicle struck a bicycle rider in the 635 block of Sumner Street in Santa Cruz. CHP logged the accident around 12:50 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the crash site, they found the bicyclist with injuries. Paramedics rendered aid to the victim. However, at the moment, the name of the injured cyclist and the extent of their trauma remained undisclosed.

Authorities later confirmed the vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
