SANTA CRUZ (March 1, 2017)- According to KRON 4 News, a deadly accident took place on Highway 1 resulting in the deaths of two men and a woman Tuesday early evening.
Authorities reported the collision to have occurred at roughly 4:24 p.m. near Wilder Creek and Dimeo Lane involving two vehicles including a Chevy and a Buick.
Per KRON 4 News, the driver of the Buick who is only being identified as a 21-year-old Santa Cruz man lost control and swerved into opposite traffic lanes colliding with a 56-year-old unidentified Oregon woman.
Neither the driver nor passenger identified as Luis Martinez-Escobar, 20, survived the collision as Martinez-Escobar was pronounced at the scene while the driver succumbed to injuries at Santa Clara Valley Med Center.
The woman driving the Chevy also tragically died after initially being taken by ambulance to Dominican Hospital then flown to Natividad Med Center, where she sadly died.
While a toxicology report is pending, no further details have been presented at this time.
