Santa Cruz Metro Bus Head-on Crash on Empire Grade

Santa Cruz Metro bus crash on Empire GradeSANTA CRUZ (May 11, 2016)- According to the Santa Cruz Sentinel, a head-on crash took place Tuesday morning on Empire Grade near Boon Doon.

The collision which took place at 8:35 a.m. involved a  Santa Cruz Metro bus and a Ford Focus.

The man driving the Ford Focus was crossed over the double yellow lines and collided with the Metro bus injuring himself and at least one passenger on the bus.

The Ford Focus driver sustained very severe injuries and was removed from his vehicle via the Jaws of Life. He was rushed to a trauma center immediately once he was freed from the vehicle.

At least one passenger on the bus was injured and hospitalized, per the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
