Motorcyclist Seriously Injured Santa Cruz Crash on Highway 1 Friday
SANTA CRUZ (October 13, 2018) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a traffic collision along Highway 1 on Friday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The accident was reported shortly after 4 p.m.
CHP received a call about an operator of a Honda Scooter who was struck by a vehicle on northbound Highway 1, also known as Cabrillo Highway, near Soquel Drive.
As per a witness, the rider was found down on the right hand shoulder after the car involved apparently ran over the victim’s leg.

Paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the motorcyclist who suffered major injuries as a result of the crash. The patient was then transported to Valley Medical Center with broken leg and arms and lacerations.
The name and condition of the motorcycle rider at this time remained unknown. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention whether or not the driver of the car involved stopped after the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
