Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Santa Cruz Crash on Highway 1 Near Soquel
SANTA CRUZ, CA (December 8, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a motorcyclist on Highway 1 near Soquel Drive in Santa Cruz.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:12 p.m.
CHP said three vehicles, including a Toyota 4Runner, were involved in the collision. The motorcycle rider hit a tire of vehicle for an unknown reason on southbound Highway 1 in Santa Cruz.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, just north of Soquel Drive. They found the motorcycle stuck in the tire and the rider hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the other drivers ended up hurt or if they stayed at the site following the wreck. The cause of the Santa Cruz crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 1 to shut down near Soquel for two hours after the collision.
