Santa Fe Springs CHP Officer Hospitalized
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA (April 4, 2016) – A Santa Fe Springs CHP officer was injured following a DUI crash on 605 Freeway Sunday morning, according to NBC Los Angeles.
The accident happened at around 2:00 a.m. just north of Telegraph Road.
Preliminary report stated that a 38-year-old Clarence Williams was driving a 1998 Cadillac Seville when it suddenly veered off the roadway and struck a stopped CHP SUV.
The event caused the CHP SUV to propel forward at an area where officers were performing a rescue operation, as mentioned in the article.
The CHP SUV then struck one officer. He was overthrown and came to rest lying on the ground.
Responding paramedics immediately transported the patient to Whittier Hospital for treatment of injuries of still unknown severity.
Another officer was at the scene but he was lucky to have not been wounded.
The NBC Los Angeles published that Williams was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
