Whittier police officials reported to the scene at about 8:50 p.m. where a white Corvette and a red Camry collided.
Two motorists inside the Camry were trapped needing assistance from the Santa Fe Springs Fire Department who help extricate the victims out of the vehicle.
Both victims were transported to a hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
Police officials determined that the driver of the Corvette was indeed under the influence and was arrested.
No further details have been presented as the accident continues to be investigated by the Whittier Police Department.
