1 Killed, 1 Injured in Santa Fe Springs Crash on Carmenita Road
SANTA FE SPRINGS (October 12, 2018) – A fatal traffic collision took place along Carmenita Road early Friday morning, according to KTLA and Whittier Daily News.
The accident involving two vehicles took place just after 4:30 a.m. near the Interstate 5 Freeway.
As per the reports, police said an older-model Chevrolet Camaro was traveling north on Carmenita Road when at the same time a 1990s-model Ford Explorer was going south.
The Explorer then made a U-turn and collided with the Camaro.
Car Crash on Carmenita Road Near 5 Freeway
Police affirmed that the driver of the Chevrolet, a man in his 50s or 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Ford sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. His name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Both directions of Carmenita Road were forced to close until about 11:30 a.m. The incident is still under investigation.
