Santa Fe Springs: Fatal Car, Big Rig Accident on Excelsior Drive1 Killed in Traffic Collision on Excelsior Drive Sunday

Santa Fe Springs, CA (January 3, 2022) – One person died following a car crash that occurred on Excelsior Drive on January 2.

The KTLA5 News reported a passenger vehicles slammed into the back the trailer of a semi truck. According to the article published online, the catastrophic incident took place Sunday around 7 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to the 13545 block of Excelsior Drive. When personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived, they immediately worked to pull out the driver of the sedan trapped in the wreckage. Due to the force from the impact, the car ended up partially pinned underneath the trailer.

Deadly Car, Truck Accident in Santa Fe Springs [January 2]

Despite life-saving measures, the driver of the sedan succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.

Detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal car crash on Excelsior Drive in Santa Fe Springs.
