Hit-and-run Fatality at Lakeland and Painter
SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2018) — A 66-year-old man was struck and killed Monday night as he walked on a sidewalk near Lakeland Road and Painter Avenue, according to the Whittier Police Department.
The crash was reported about 7 p.m. on Sept. 24th in front of the Amelia Mayberry Park. The driver had been traveling eastbound when they struck the victim and fled the scene. Paramedics rushed the injured man to a hospital, but sadly he died of his injuries.
The Whittier Police Department is heading up the investigation.
