Motorcyclist Killed in Santa Fe Springs Crash on 5 Freeway
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (May 10, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed after a crash on the 5 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:05 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said the motorcycle rider and a sedan collided for an unknown reason in Santa Fe Springs. The two crashed on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived near the 605 Freeway and the city’s border with Downey. They found the motorcyclist down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Santa Fe Springs crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced three left lanes of the 5 Freeway to shut down for a time south of East Florence Avenue after the incident.
