Elderly Slams Into Occupied Building, Another Vehicle Hits Tree
SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA (March 29, 2016) – Four people were injured following a 2-car crash at the corner of Jones and Broadway Streets Tuesday afternoon, according to KEYT News.
The accident happened at around 12:30 p.m.
Preliminary report stated that an 81-year-old Marciano Escutia, who was driving a SUV, failed to yield to a Mercedes-Benz after he drove into heavy traffic on Broadway from Jones.
The event caused the two vehicles to collide and briefly cause chaos at the area, as mentioned in the article.
The force from the impact sent Escutia crashing into a nearby business, Cruz Multiservice and Insurance building.
While the Benz, driven by 30-year-old Marisol Manriquez, smashed into a tree on the sidewalk.
The mishap resulted in four people sustaining minor injuries. Two wounded were from the SUV, while the others were occupying the Benz.
Responding paramedic team immediately gave medical attention to the patients.
