4 Injured in Collision Near Santa Maria Airport
Santa Maria, CA (July 10, 2022) – Several people suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred i the area of Mahoney and Black Road, the Lompoc Record News reported.
Auto vs. Tanker Truck Accident at Mahoney and Black Road
Our sources indicated a tanker truck carrying fuel collided with a Dodge Neon at the intersection near the Santa Maria Airport. Preliminary investigation revealed the tanker was heading south on Black Road, and later made a right-hand turn onto a dirt road at the Mahoney Road intersection. According to the article published online, the Dodge was traveling at a high rate of speed behind the tanker. Officials believed the driver of the Dodge failed to slow down and broadsided the turning truck.
Shortly after 5:58 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found as many as four people suffering injuries. Medical personnel transported all injured party to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation. The names of the occupants hurt in the Dodge remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the operator of the tanker truck appeared unharmed after the incident.
Further investigation is ongoing on the traffic collision that happened Mahoney and Black Road.
