5 Injured in Santa Maria Crash at Blosser Road and Alvin Avenue

SANTA MARIA, CA (November 6, 2022) – Several were seriously injured after a DUI crash at Blosser Road and Alvin Avenue in Santa Maria.

According to the Noozhawk and KSBY News, the accident took place on Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 8 p.m.

Police said the incident happened when two vehicles collided in Santa Maria. The cars crashed at the intersection of North Blosser Road and West Alvin Avenue.

A man, a woman and three children riding one car sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. The juveniles, all under the age of 10, ended up ejected from their vehicle upon impact.

Drunk Driver Hits Family Car

An air ambulance flew the children to an outside area hospital for treatment. A ground ambulance rushed their parents to the Marian Hospital in Santa Maria.

Meanwhile, police determined that the male driver of the other car was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victims. They soon arrested him for DUI.

Officers forced the area of Blosser and Alvin to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Santa Maria crash is still under investigation.
