Girl, 16, Killed in Car Crash at Betteravia and Telephone Roads
SANTA MARIA (August 3, 2018) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a traffic collision on Autumn Road Thursday evening, according to Noozhawk.
As per the article, Antonio Perez-Cortes flagged down an American Medical Response ambulance near the intersection of Betteravia and Telephone after colliding into a Kia Sportage around 7 p.m.

Jane DeJesus, 20, Injured in Santa Maria Car Accident
Authorities added the 20-year-old driver of the Kia, Jane DeJesus, suffered major injuries as a result of the wreck.
Meanwhile, officials determined Perez-Cortes had his stepchildren in the vehicle and was transporting them to Marian Regional Medical Center after an earlier solo-vehicle crash off Tepusquet Road when the second collision occurred. No details were disclosed on the conditions of the juveniles.
The detectives handling the case continue to work to determine exactly how and why the deadly crash happened.

A forensic examination of the two vehicles involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will be made to help investigators determine the liability in the accident. Other potential factors will be looked into as well including whether or not a driver was under the influence at the time of the accident, whether or not a motorist was distracted, operating the vehicle recklessly, or traveling over the speed limit prior to impact. Each of these factors plus several others will be assessed allowing police officials to draw up a final conclusion.
