Vehicle Strikes Man Crossing Street in Santa Maria
Santa Maria, CA (October 24, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered major injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Broadway and El Camino Street.
The Noozhawk, and KSBY News reported a vehicle struck an individual at the intersection in Santa Maria Sunday night. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk, then attempted to cross Broadway. While in the traffic lanes, a car heading north on Broadway hit the man.
Shortly after 8 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the scene. Responding paramedics immediately attended to the pedestrian. After medical personnel evaluated the injured party, they decided to transfer them to a hospital; where they were listed in critical condition. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detective stayed at the scene the whole evening. At this time, they continue to investigate the precise cause of the pedestrian accident that happened at Broadway and El Camino Street.
