Big Rig Hits Man Near Santa Maria Way
Santa Maria, CA (June 25, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle on State Route Highway 101 Friday afternoon.
Preliminary investigation revealed a big rig struck a male party in the northbound side of SR-101 near Santa Maria Way. The crash took place at about 4 p.m.
Pedestrian Hospitalized After Accident on Highway 101
According to KSBY and Noozhawk News, the pedestrian sustained major trauma due to the force from the impact. Earlier reports indicated paramedics transported the patient to a Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation. Officials only identified the patient as a man in his 30s.
Meanwhile, the Santa Maria Times published an article online indicating a red semitruck and a Nissan Xterra both pulled over along the highway near the crash site. Detectives continue to determine whether the Xterra also struck the victim.
Further investigation is ongoing on the accident that happened on Highway 101 in Santa Maria.
