Pedestrian Critically Injured in Santa Maria Hit-and-Run at Blosser and Cook
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a hit-and-run crash at Blosser Road and Cook Street in Santa Maria.
According to an article published by Noozhawk, the accident occurred on Saturday evening. Officers reported the incident on January 16 at about 6:20 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The victim was crossing north of the intersection of South Blosser Road and West Cook Street at the time.
Firefighters along with the paramedics then responded to the scene. They found the pedestrian left lying on the ground and suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Victim Hit by Car in Santa Maria Saturday
Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. However, officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid fled southbound on Blosser. The motorist ultimately turned east onto Boone Street, leaving broken components of the car.
Officers described the vehicle as a a dark color, older model, small rounded looking sedan. The car possibly sustained damage to the front bumper area and a broken front light assembly.
