Man Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Santa Monica Boulevard Monday
Santa Monica, CA (August 4, 2021) – On August 2, Monday, one person died following a suspected hit-and-run crash on Santa Monica Boulevard.
The KTLA5 News reported the incident began when a staff from Busby’s Bar and Restaurant asked a 29-year-old man to leave the premises following an altercation. The male party then stormed out of the bar and retrieved his Porsche Panamera.
According to the article published online, the 29-year-old man allegedly intentionally struck a patron near the front of the establishment. The suspect reportedly sped off after the collision.
Deadly Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident in Santa Monica, August 2
Emergency teams arrived at the site shortly after 1:05 a.m. When paramedics arrived, they found a male victim lying on the ground. An ambulance rushed the patient to a local hospital, but he later sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said the suspect will be charged with murder; assault with a deadly weapon; and driving under the influence.
Further investigation on the Santa Monica hit-and-run crash is underway.
