SANTA PAULA (January 9, 2017)- According to KVTA News, a woman identified as Cristina Jaloma, 58, has been identified as the victim fatally struck Friday evening in an auto versus pedestrian collision.
The collision took place at 5:30 p.m. approximately at the intersection of Main Street and Palm Avenue.
Santa Paula Police officials disclosed that Cristina Jaloma had been walking within the means of a marked crosswalk before being hit by a vehicle.
Jaloma was in critical condition before paramedics arrived at took her to Ventura County Med Center. She sadly did not survive and died of her injuries Friday night.
Per KVTA News, the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and did not appear to have been under the influence.
The Santa Paula Police Department will investigate the collision.
