3 Seriously Injured in Car Accident at Stony Point Road and Hearn Avenue
SANTA ROSA (May 28, 2018) – Three people were injured following an alleged DUI collision in the area of Stony Point Road and Hearn Avenue, according to San Francisco Chronicle.
As per the article, witnesses spotted a 2002 Honda Civic speeding erratically on Stony Point Monday morning. Then, as the Civic entered the intersection, the driver broadsided a gold 2005 Toyota Prius with two people inside heading westbound on Hearn.
The Civic came to a rest on the center median, and the Prius spun into the southbound lanes of Stony Point Road.
Firefighters and paramedics found the driver of the Civic, and two people inside the Toyota who all appeared to be hurt as a result of the wreck. All three were cut out of their mangled cars with hydraulic rescue tools before being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious trauma.
The names of the victims inside the Toyota remained unknown at this time.
Jaime Arias-Garfias Arrested After Santa Rosa DUI Accident
Meanwhile, investigators identified the driver of the Civic as 36-year-old Jaime Arias-Garfias. Officials determined Arias-Garfias was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and arrested him.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
