Bicyclist Killed in Santa Rosa Crash at Stony Point Road and Highway 12
SANTA ROSA (October 30, 2018) – A bicyclist was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Stony Point Road and Highway 12 Tuesday afternoon, according to The Press Democrat.
The accident took place at approximately 12:25 p.m. near the Joe Rodota Trail.
As per the article, police said a woman was riding a buckled cream-colored cruiser bicycle when she was hit by a dump truck in or near the crosswalk. The truck was loaded with thousands of pounds of dirt.
The operator of the truck, Donald Parisi, was waiting on the off-ramp of eastbound Highway 12 for the green light and for a pedestrian to clear the east-west crosswalk prior to making a turn.

As the Sonoma man turned south onto Stony Point Road, the cyclist then apparently crossed the street. The rider was run over and became trapped underneath the right rear tires of the 10-wheeled vehicle.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, Parisi appeared to have stopped after the crash and cooperated with the authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
