1 Killed in Santa Rosa Crash on Highway 101 Near Hearn Avenue
SANTA ROSA, CA (April 3, 2022) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Highway 101 near Hearn Avenue in Santa Rosa.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 2 a.m. near Yolanda Avenue.
CHP said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Santa Rosa. They crashed on northbound Highway 101, just south of Hearn Avenue.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars as a red Ford Explorer and a silver Toyota Tacoma. Both the sedan and the SUV lost their wheels due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one person died as a result of the incident.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal Santa Rosa crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for almost three hours near Hearn and Yolanda following the wreck.
