Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Santa Rosa Hit-and-Run at Sebastopol and Corporate Center
SANTA ROSA, CA (June 19, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a bicyclist at Sebastopol Road and Corporate Center Parkway in Santa Rosa.
The Press Democrat and CBS San Francisco wrote that the accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the collision on June 18 at around 10:40 p.m.
Santa Rosa police said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason. The driver hit the cyclist at the intersection of Sebastopol Road and Corporate Center Parkway.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim left lying unconscious on the ground. The bicyclist sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Bicycle Rider Hit by Car
Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the rider and fled the area. They classified the car involved as a dark colored Acura MDX, a midsized SUV, made between 2008 and 2010.
Police also described the suspect as a Hispanic male, around 25 years old, with tattoos of writing near his right eyebrow and right cheek. He has short hair, a mustache and a goatee.
The Acura obtained damage to its front and windshield after hitting the bicycle. Authorities closed the corner of Sebastopol and Corporate Center following the crash.
The Santa Rosa hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
