2 Killed After 3-Wheeled Motorcycle Crash near Buellton
SANTA YNEZ (October 15, 2017) – Two people were killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 near Buellton Sunday morning, according to Noozhawk.
At approximately 8:00 a.m. today, a three-wheeled motorcycle struck the center divider guardrail in the southbound side of Highway 101.
Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, American Medical Response and the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the crash site, approximately 1 mile south of the Highway 154 interchange. There, medical crews found a male and a female overthrown from the motorcycle.

As per the article, both parties were pronounced deceased at the scene. The identities of the driver and passenger will not be released until family members have been notified.
Authorities believe the man, possibly in his 50s, was the individual operating the motorcycle. He was ejected from the bike and was apparently killed due to the blunt force from the impact.
Furthermore, the woman reportedly landed on the road and was struck by passing traffic.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle came to rest upright at approximately 100 yards from the riders.
Officials said further investigation is ongoing at this time to determine the cause of the deadly accident.
