2 Women Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver Wednesday Evening
DATE OF INCIDENT: Wednesday, August 29th
August 30, 2018- According to Fox 5 News, two women were badly injured following a pedestrian hit-and-run collision last night on Molino Road near El Nopal.
San Diego police officials responded to the collision which transpired just before 8:00 p.m.
At least one witness stated that saw three young men in their teens or early 20s arguing with another resident before entering into a newer model Honda vehicle and speeding off.
Moments later, the vehicle veered over to the right jumping the curb and hitting two women who had been walking on the sidewalk adjacent to Molino Road.
The unidentified victims each suffered significant injuries and were transported via ambulance to hospitals, where they were both listed to be in serious condition. per Fox 5 News.
After hitting the victims, the Honda sedan sped off failing to render aid but was located a short while later in a nearby neighborhood.
16-Year-Old Honda Registered Owner Arrested
Authorities were able to confirm the vehicle was registered and belonged to a 16-year-old teen who was later detained and arrested for several charges.
Meanwhile, the two other suspects who were serving as accomplices inside the Honda at the time of the collision have not been found at this time. They have been described as an 18-year-old Caucasian man, around 5’7″, with brown hair, while the second is an 18-year-old light-skinned black man, 6’1″, and around 140 pounds.
