SANTEE, Calif. (Oct. 11, 2021) — At least two including a UPS driver are dead after a Santee plane crash Monday afternoon completely destroyed two homes near Santana High School.
The solo, twin-engine plane crashed Monday, sparking a fire in this residential neighborhood at Greencastle Street and Jeremy Street, according to Fox 5 News.
Dr. Sugata Das, an instrument-rated pilot and owner of the plane, is believed to be the pilot of the Cessna 340A. He typically flew between his San Diego home and Arizona where he is the chief medical office at Yuma Regional Medical Center. Authorities do not believe anyone aboard the aircraft survived the collision.

The location is about 20 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. The driver from the UPS truck Steve Krueger, 61, also perished in the crash, according to a report by Your Central Valley.
