Woman killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Topanga Canyon Road
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (Dec. 17, 2018) – Saori Hirai Padilla, 50, of Tarzana, was killed early Monday morning in a collision between her Honda Fit and a Dodge Ram pickup truck on Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
The crash took place about 1:47 a.m. at De La Osa Street in Woodland Hills, police said. The pickup truck was reportedly traveling at an estimated 60 mph in a 35 mph zone when he slammed into the Honda driven by Padilla.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the intersection to help those involved, but unfortunately the woman died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, Ricardo Tejada, 21, of North Hills, was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He was taken to a hospital and subsequently arrested following the crash. A passenger in his vehicle fled the scene.

Police are reviewing all the evidence and will determine whether criminal charges should be filed.
