Sarinana Gaytan Rutilia Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident on Main Street

Woman, 72, Struck and Killed at Main Street, Cubbon Street
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2026) — Sarinana Gaytan Rutilia, 72, of Santa Ana, was crossing Main Street in Santa Ana when she was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday morning, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The deadly car accident happened around 6:27 a.m. on October 5, 2026, at the Santa Ana intersection with Cubbon Street.
Santa Ana police responded, along with paramedics and firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority.
Emergency crews worked to save the victim’s life, but unfortunately, she died at the scene, the report said.
Detectives working on the case determined the Santa Ana woman was likely walking westbound across the northbound and southbound lanes of Main Street at the time of the crash.
The southbound vehicle struck her, but the driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) is handling the investigation.
