Saul Reyes, 51, Killed in Hesperia Crash on 15 Freeway Near Main Street
HESPERIA, CA (September 30, 2022) – Saul Reyes was killed after a car crash on the 15 Freeway in the city of Hesperia.
The coroner’s office identified the 51-year-old Beaumont man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on September 14.
The incident happened when Saul Reyes was riding a black Toyota Camry north on the Interstate 15 Freeway, north of the Main Street off-ramp, in Hesperia.
The Victor Valley News reported that his car collided with a Chevy Malibu for an unknown reason. The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at about 4:50 a.m.
Multiple Cars Collide
The Toyota ended up on Amargosa Road with extensive damage to its driver’s side. The Malibu came to a stop between both k-rails inside of a construction area with damage to its driver’s side.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon pronounced Saul Reyes dead at the scene of the crash. Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his funeral expenses.
The driver of the Malibu survived the collision with minor injuries. Meanwhile, a tractor-trailer semi pulled over with visible rear minor damage.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Hesperia crash is still under investigation.
