Scooter Rider Seriously Injured in Sawtelle Hit-and-Run at Rochester and Federal
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 20, 2021) – A scooter rider was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash at Rochester and Federal avenues in Sawtelle.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 8:05 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle was going west on Rochester Avenue, approaching Federal Avenue, in the Sawtelle neighborhood.
Los Angeles police said the driver then made a left turn onto Federal. In the process, the car slammed into the rider of an electric scooter in the intersection.
Victim Hit by Car
The victim ended up thrown into the roadway as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the scooter rider suffering from major injuries.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital and listed them in serious condition. The reports did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. They described the car as a gray Toyota Camry.
Officers forced the intersection of Rochester and Federal to shut down following the wreck. The Sawtelle hit-and-run crash near Los Angeles National Veterans Par is still under investigation.
