Scot Adam and Novita Adam Seriously Injured in DUI Crash on Live Oak Boulevard and Highway 99
LIVE OAK (June 15, 2018) – Two were seriously injured after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Live Oak Boulevard and Highway 99 on Thursday night, according to Appeal Democrat.
The victims have been identified as 41-year-old Scot Adam and 34-year-old Novita Adam, both of Live Oak.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 29-year-old Fermin Rios was driving north on Live Oak Boulevard, approaching Highway 99 when he allegedly failed to stop for a second vehicle.
Fermin Rios Arrested For DUI
The second car occupied by the Adams was reportedly preparing to make a right turn onto the highway when it crashed into the rear of Rios’ car. The force of the collision pushed the Adams’ vehicle into the left front of a southbound car.
CHP affirmed that Scot Adam and Novita Adam were taken to Rideout Hospital to be treated for major injuries. Two of the three occupants of the third vehicle were also hospitalized with minor wounds.
Meanwhile, Rios was believed to have been drunk driving at the time of the wreck. The Live Oak man was treated at Rideout and was later booked into Sutter County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
