Scott Demunnik Killed in Arvin DUI Crash on Highway 223; Kylie Sluder Arrested
ARVIN (December 4, 2017) – A man killed after an alleged DUI crash on Highway 223 Monday morning has been identified as Scott Demunnik, according to 23 ABC News and Bakersfield Now.
Kern High School District said the 41-year-old Caliente man was a teacher of chemistry for more than 18 years at Arvin High School.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 26-year-old Kylie C. Sluder was driving a Toyota Prius east on Highway 223 when she veered into the westbound lane. The highway is also known as also known as Bear Mountain Boulevard.
Sluder then struck head-on a Dodge Stratus driven by Demunnik. The collision occurred just after 7:30 a.m.
CHP affirmed that Demunnik was died at the scene.
Meanwhile, Sluder was transported to Kern Medical with major internal injuries. The Santa Paula woman was later arrested for felony driving under the influence of drugs causing injury or death.
