Hit-and-Run Driver Scott Satterfield, 61, Kills Pedestrian in La Mesa Crash
LA MESA, CA (April 8, 2021) – Authorities detained Scott Satterfield after a fatal hit-and-run crash in La Mesa two months ago.
Police identified the Spring Valley 61-year-old man as the suspect in the collision that killed a pedestrian on February 27.
The incident happened when Scott Satterfield was driving a white Ford F150 pickup truck in La Mesa. For an unknown reason, he struck Jok Joseph Jok on Bancroft Drive, south of Golondrina Drive.
The San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News reported the accident shortly after 9 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found Jok left lying unresponsive on the the side of Bancroft.

He sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the 18-year-old man to a hospital, where he died on March 5.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Scott Satterfield did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers soon found him at a Mission Valley motel on Wednesday.
Authorities arrested the suspect on one count of felony hit-and-run. They booked him into the San Diego County Jail with a bail set at $100,000.
The tragic La Mesa hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
